Research Opportunities in our Lab

Are you a clinician, researcher, or undergraduate student in Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, or Engineering interested in learning or pursuing a research opportunity at the intersection of neuroscience, neuroimaging, and pathology? We may have an exciting opportunity for you in our Lab. We are always searching for bright, creative, motivated, and collaborative candidates to join our group.

You may like to check out our “research“, “publications” and “mentoring” philosophy pages. If our work interests you or you have a specific research topic of interest, get in touch with us – we are willing to have a chat!

Work-Study / Volunteering / Fellowships: We are always looking for volunteers to assist in the lab projects. If you’d like to work in our lab, please send us an email and let us know what kind of opportunity you’re looking for. We are happy to assist you in connecting with the appropriate projects/people in our lab.

Independent Research Opportunities: If you are interested in gaining more in-depth research experience (such as an independent learning project or completing an Honors, MD, or Ph.D. thesis), please send us an email with a detailed description of your clinical/research interests, your career goals, and what specific skills/experience you wish to gain in our team and explain why you believe our team is the best place for you to achieve those goals.

Diversity and Belonging Statement

Diversity,  inclusion, and belonging – for us, they’re more than just words. They are in our DNA. They’re the guiding principles for how we build our teams, inspire each other, and work together to create an inclusive workplace that values, promotes, and celebrates different perspectives of our members of the team. We are global, multicultural, and diverse; so we want our culture and work philosophy to reflect that. Embracing diversity encourages us to think “out of the box” and brings us closer to each other, our patients, and indeed the communities we serve. Join us!

Acknowledgment of Country

Global Health Neurology Lab acknowledges Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and recognizes the continuing connection to lands, waters, and communities. We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and to Elders both past, present, and emerging for they hold the memories, the traditions, the customs, and hope of their people. We support the Uluru Statement from the Heart.

Thank you for being kind to those around. Your kindness creates an inclusive atmosphere for those under distress or navigating challenging aspects of life. There is a great power in shared humanity that binds us all together. – SMMB
