International Conference on Genomics (IGC)

Whilst our fight against COVID-19 continue, broader questions involving ethics and humanity become poignant.
The rapid research, development, and advancements in the field of genomics medicine call for a critical debate on their ethics and policy implications. How can we ensure that current ethical frameworks are applied and what are the areas where these frameworks need to be expanded given the long-term implications of these technologies on medicine and our society?

Dr Sonu M. M. Bhaskar, MD PhD gave a keynote on “Ethics and Policy Considerations for Genomic Technologies” during the session on Bioethics at the International Conference of Genomics (ICG-16) (25-31 October 2021), chaired by Professor Ole Döring from the Berlin Institute for Global Health, Germany.
